Heidelberg hires new VP for administration Storck, who comes to Heidelberg from Otterbein College in Westerville, where he has been vice president for business affairs the past 18 years, has a wealth of experience managing all aspects of financial affairs in higher education settings. In his new position at Heidelberg, Storck will be responsible for preparation and oversight of the college's annual budget, investment and endowment management, human resources, facilities and engineering, the bookstore, accounts receivable and payable and the food service. He begins July 1. At Otterbein, Storck was responsible for control of the college's $65 million budget and oversaw all investments and cash management. He has extensive supervisory experience and also served as an adjunct professor of accounting. He replaces Jeannine Curns, who is retiring June 30 after more than 41 years at Heidelberg. Curns was appointed vice president for administration in the 1980s. Heidelberg President F. Dominic Dottavio said the college is fortunate to bring on board an administrator with Storck's experience, and he expects the transition to be seamless. "Finding an experienced administrator with the knowledge and skills necessary to help lead us toward the strategic goals we have identified for the college was critically important to us," Dottavio said. "We will rely heavily on his expertise in the areas of strategic budgeting, cash management and investment, human resources - indeed, all areas of our financial division. We look forward to welcoming Steve to the Heidelberg community." Storck said he was attracted to Heidelberg because of the college's long and distinguished tradition of providing a broad-based liberal arts education for its students. And, he believes he's arriving at an exciting time. "Heidelberg is a college on the move, and this is an exciting time in the institution's history," Storck said. "I am looking forward to assuming my responsibilities and collaborating with other members of the college community to advance the institution. In addition to his tenure at Otterbein, Storck was the business manager at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, comptroller at Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia and assistant comptroller at the University of Charleston in West Virginia. He earned his doctoral degree in higher education administration from Ohio University in 1996, his MBA from York College in Pennsylvania in 1989 and his bachelor's degree in accounting from King's College in Pennsylvania in 1976. He also is a graduate of the College of Business Management Institute, University of Kentucky. Storck is a certified public accountant and has been affiliated with numerous professional organizations, including the Ohio Association of College and University Business Officers and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. In his community, he is a member of the Rotary Club and the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Westerville City Schools Business Advisory Forum, the city's Community Reinvestment Area Housing Council, the Westerville Fund and others.
