Heidelberg College believes that the residential experience is an integral part of a college education. As part of the total college experience, residence hall life is designed to foster and support a student's personal, social, spiritual and academic development. |
|||
Through the residence life experience students are exposed to educational and social programs which familiarize the residents with the diversity of the lifestyles, backgrounds and personalities of their peers. Residence halls provide students with life skills which are transferable to as career and to life in general. The halls also provide opportunities for group interaction and the development of leadership skills through Inter-Residence Hall Council, Resident Assistant positions, Hall Council and hall/floor programs. While it is possible to complete a degree without the intentional group living experience, it has been demonstrated that it contributes to the development of a student's maturity and overall success. Heidelberg College has six residence halls. Each hall is staffed by one Residence Coordinator, and each floor is staffed by a student Resident Assistant. |
