Federal Affairs Internship - Mental Health America - Washington DC

The incumbent in this position will work on federal policy issues and legislation, and provide research and other support to the federal policy team and grass-roots advocates. Our team works on a wide range of issues, including expanding access to treatment, children's mental health, mental health parity, and Medicaid financing of mental health services. Affiliate Services Internship

Individuals who seek experience in identifying critical issues and solutions to the challenges of dwindling funding and increasing needs in the mental health field faced by  national and local advocates should apply. The Mental Health America Affiliate Services Department provides our 320 state and local affiliates nationwide with training and technical assistance on organizational capacity issues, helping affiliates work effectively in providing mental health education, advocacy and services in their local communities. Any undergraduate or graduate student interested in gaining experience in designing technical assistance programming in Non-profit Management issues should also apply.
