Heidelberg Student Campus Center Campus Center

Welcome To The Campus Center

The Campus Center is the focal point for student activities and services. The east half of the center was constructed in 1926 to serve as The Commons, a men's dining hall. After 1966, the Modern English Gothic portion of the building was altered to provide The Great Hall, a multi-functional room. The opening in 1971 of a two-story wing expanded recreational services for students. The addition included a snack bar with 250 seats and a recreation area, called The Castle, the student services, activities offices, a television lounge and The Down Under, a student-operated non-alcohol lounge and game room in the basement of the Great Hall. The Campus Center was closed for the 1999-2000 academic year for renovations. A 9,000 square foot addition was added to the existing 26,000 square foot building. Housed within the new facility are student organizations, student health services and student affairs offices. Student mailboxes, a fitness center, the campus bookstore, a computer lab, a food court and Starbucks Coffee are also located in the Campus Center. The newly renovated facility opened in August of 2000.
