Bicycle and Motorcycle Policy

Students who bring their own bicycles to campus or ride bicycles in Tiffin should be familiar with certain provisions of the city ordinances pertaining to their use.

  1. Bicycles used in Tiffin should be properly licensed. Applications for the licenses can be made at the Tiffin Police Department. There is no charge. This licensing can be helpful to the student in case of loss or theft of the bicycle.
  2. All persons operating bicycles should keep to the right-hand curb and ride in single file when riding upon heavily traveled thoroughfares. If they are riding on sidewalks in the residential areas, they should use the right side of the sidewalks in so far as it is practicable. Riding on the sidewalk in the business district is prohibited. A bicycle is classed as a vehicle and the rider should observe all traffic regulations.
  3. Bicycles must be stored in designated areas in the residence halls or in the student's room.
  4. Bicycles may not be ridden in hallways of the residence halls.
  5. The College is not responsible for the loss or theft of bicycles.

Motorcycles must be registered and parked in college parking lots on campus. They cannot be stored in residence halls or individual student rooms.
