artillery shell fragment and several pistol balls were recovered from sweet corn
gardens near the Browning Cemetery. |

In the afternoon, with near record temperatures (upper 90s),
the crew moved to the southern edge of the battlefield area to search for
evidence of the early morning clash between the forces of General Henry M. Judah
and Morgan's brother-in-law, Col. Basil Duke. |
