Boyd detected and Larry Hamilton recovered a small belt plate. |

Tom Garvin and a volunteer from the Meigs County Pioneer and
Historical Society recovered a series of Spencer carbine bullets, large caliber
Minie balls and pistol slugs. |

After sampling the cornfield by detecting a series of
transects, areas of artifact concentration were investigated by intensive survey
of a series of 50' x 50' grid squares. Each square was surveyed by two different
types of detectors and along two different axes. |
