field1 Memorial Day morning found the detector/recovery crews examining a grid in a corn field.

bullet This Minie ball, an Enfield variant, was probably fired by the Confederate forces.
picnic Thanks to the Meigs County Pioneer and Historical Society for a picnic lunch in the Buffington Island Battlefield Park.
local Area residents have shared a wealth of information about the past and present of the Buffington Island area.
cicada Our constant companions, the cicadas, are always watching the progress of the Buffington Island Battlefield survey.
