The Buffington Island Battlefield survey begins on Saturday
morning, May 29, staff and volunteer excavators and detector operators from
Meigs, Seneca Athens, Lucas and Wood Counties. |

Prior to the onset of fieldwork, crew and
volunteers receive instructions on the strict methodology to be used in this
survey. The crew is organized into detect/recovery teams, a recording/collecting
team and a global positioning system team. |
