Transfer Requirements

If you are considering transferring to Heidelberg College, you will need to submit the following items:

  • Application for admission
Apply on-line at http://www2.heidelberg.edu/offices/admission/applications.html, or an application can be mailed to you.
  • Final high school transcripts
  • ACT or SAT scores
These scores will likely be included on your high school transcript.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
To be official, transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to Heidelberg College. Transfer students should request that all college transcripts be sent at the time of application. An updated official transcript will then need to be requested to include final grades for coursework in which you are currently enrolled or will be enrolled prior to starting at Heidelberg.
  • Completed Personnel Dean's Form
This form will be mailed to you when your application is received. You will need to complete the first section of this form and an official at the college (usually the dean of students) that you most recently attended must complete the second section.

To be considered for admission, transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Transfer Credit

Generally, courses in which you earned a C- or better should transfer unless considered too technical or below the college level. Your GPA from prior college work does not transfer to Heidelberg. Your Heidelberg GPA will be based solely on the coursework you complete at Heidelberg. Heidelberg does not limit the number of hours that you can transfer, but only 60 hours from two-year institutions can be applied toward your Heidelberg degree. All students must complete a minimum of 30 semester hours at Heidelberg to qualify for a bachelor’s degree. At least half of the requirements in your major must be completed at Heidelberg.

Financial Aid

Transfer students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Heidelberg's FAFSA code is 003048. While additional aid may be available, Heidelberg offers two specific awards just for transfer students. These awards cannot be combined:

Transfer Academic Award
This award ranges from $1500 to $3000 per year and is renewable with a 2.5 GPA or higher. To qualify, you must have attempted at least 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours and earned a 2.8 or higher GPA. Full-time enrollment status is required.

Phi Theta Kappa Merit Scholarship
This award ranges from $4000 to $6000 per year and is renewable with a 2.75 GPA or higher. To qualify, you must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa, have earned at least 15 semester or 23 quarter hours and earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. Full-time enrollment status is required. You must provide documentation of membership by presenting your membership card or through designation on your college transcript.

Ohio Transfer Scholarships
Additional scholarship opportunities may be available to Transfer Students through the Ohio Transfer Council (OTC).  For more information about these scholarships, please visit the OTC website.
