Controller

Heidelberg College invites candidates to fill the position of Controller.  This is a twelve-month administrative position reporting to the Vice President for Administration.
 
Responsibilities include the coordination and the preparation of the College's annual operating and capital budgets and preparing presentations for senior management, the Finance, Investment and Audit Committee, and the Board of Trustees.  The Controller is responsible analyzing fiscal trends, preparing budget documents and reports, and functions as the primary liaison with the external auditors.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and CPA certification are required as is a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in higher education.  The position requires a high level of competency in computer skills, including Windows, Banner integrated software system, and Brio report writer.

A highly developed attention to detail is required, as is the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people utilizing clear oral and written communication skills.

Creative Designer:

Heidelberg College is seeking a creative designer for its Office of Marketing and Communications. The designer is a member of a team charged with communicating a positive image of the college to its many constituencies. Responsibilities include: providing creative input on projects, designing publications, developing a cohesive look to Heidelberg publications and multimedia images, and providing printers and vendors with project specifications. In addition to print responsibilities, he or she will assist in the development of the Heidelberg College web site. The successful candidate will: have a minimum associate's degree or preferred bachelor's degree with emphasis in graphic design, visual communications or other related field and/or 3-5 years of experience, be proficient in current versions of publishing programs, including InDesign, Freehand, and Photoshop. Must have experience with web site development and management; Dreamweaver or similar content development applications and Content Management System software, as well as image editing/creation applications. HTML and JavaScript coding, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS); and related basic web technologies a plus.

The Heidelberg Honors Program is seeking a responsible, community-minded individual to fulfill the Americorps*VISTA position for the 2007-08 academic year. Duties include working with service learning placements and classes in the Honors Program, and facilitating the increase and effectiveness of service learning across our campus. High energy and strong interpersonal skills are necessary. College degree or several years work experience is required. Campus room, board, and office space are included with bi-weekly stipend from Americorps. One-year renewable position begins July, 2007. For further information see www.americorps.org.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement

The Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA) provides strategic direction, vision and management of the college's overall institutional advancement efforts, including fund-raising, alumni, and marketing and communication initiatives. The position is a member of the President's Counciland reports directly to the President. Bachelor's degree required, Master'spreferred.

The successful candidate will possess demonstrated, successful experiencein all aspects of institutional advancement; will serve as the College's principal gifts officer, helping to identify, cultivate, solicit, "close," and steward a highly select group of major gifts prospects. Experience with capital campaigns, including a background in planned giving, major gift solicitations, reunion giving and annual fund giving required.

Extensive travel required.

Associate Vice President for Facilities

Heidelberg College is seeking an individual to fill the position of Associate Vice President for Facilities. The Associate Vice President for Facilities reports to the Vice President for Administration and serves as the primary advisor to the Vice President and the President on facility and engineering issues. The incumbent provides leadership and oversight for campus facility planning and capital projects, including development and implementation of the campus master plan and major construction projects. The Associate Vice President is responsible for the management of all campus facility, engineering and grounds operations, including maintenance, skilled trades, landscaping, custodial services, transportation, conference and event planning logistics, and project management of new construction and facility renovations.

Qualifications:

  • A baccalaureate degree in related field; master preferred
  • Minimum of five years physical plant experience, including a minimum of three years at the supervisory level. Experience in Higher Education Facilities preferred.
  • Ability to organize and delegate work so as to control a variety of programs simultaneously with adaptability to cope with changing physical plant standards and requirements.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of campus constituents, including students, faculty, staff and community partners.
