Learning Beyond The Classroom |
||||
| * | Internships at the local, state, national and international levels give students practical knowledge of government institutions, election campaigns, criminal and civil law, and non-governmental organizations working for change. Majors are encouraged to take part in a semester-long program of study in Washington, D.C. that includes a Washington-based internship. | |||
| * | As members of our International Organizations teams, students visit other colleges and cites to take part in simulation experiences such as Model NATOs, Model UNs and Model European Unions. | |||
| * | Students present papers and take part in panels at academic conferences, including the Heidelberg Undergraduate Academic Conference, and other conferences around the country. With the department's encouragement and assistance, students have researched, written and presented award-winning papers at prestigious conferences. | |||
