Welcome to the Heidelberg College Alumni Athletic Training Website! Alumni News and Notes August 2006: Jennifer Street has joined the Athletic Training staff at West Virginia University. She is graduate assistant ATC covering volleyball and crew. Jeffery Huston and his wife, Michelle, are expecting a baby in February! Good job! November 2005: Chris Lofquist (’05) has joined the ranks of a certified athletic trainer. Good Luck Chris! June 2005: Alumni meeting occurred at the NATA Convention. May 2005: Sean Degerstrom (’05) completed his MAEd at the ’Berg. His thesis was entitled, "Curriculum to Establish First Aid and CPR Training for the Athletic Department of Heidelberg College." October 2004: Jeff Huston (’01) married Michelle Divito. Jeff currently works as an Athletic Trainer, Instructor of Athletic Training, and Recruiting Coordinator of ATEP at the ’Berg. Faculty Pursuits June 2006: Margo Greicar, Karen Keenan, and Jeffery Huston attended the NATA Symposium in Atlanta. Spring 2006: Jeff Huston is planning an open house for future athletic training students this spring. The event will occur on March 31. Spring 2006: Karen Keenan has attended the Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy. Spring 2006: Sean Degerstrom has presented guest lectures to the Graduate Student Association of The Ohio State, entitled "Living Well, Keeping New Years Resolutions," and to at the Faculty Research Symposia at Heidelberg College, entitled "Who Should Have Access to Automated External Defibrillators for Use in Sudden Cardiac Arrest." Fall 2005: Margo Greicar and Jeff Huston are teaching new courses at the ’Berg. The goal of this course is to improve critical thinking, reading comprehension, and writing skill for the first year students at Heidelberg College. Both are enjoying the new challenges of this course. Fall 2005: Sean Degerstrom is teaching an Online course to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina and Rita in their academic pursuits. Fall 2005: Margo Greicar has begun a doctoral program at Bowling Green State University in Leadership Studies. Fall 2005: The ATEP faculty has held Bi-monthly in-services to further the education of the faculty and students. News and Notes for the 'Berg August 2006: The ATEP has brought in the largest class of first students in the history of the program! We look forward to a successful year! Laura Kunkel joins the Heidelberg ATEP Faculty. Her primary sport responsibilities will be football, women's basketball, and women's outdoor track and field. Welcome to the 'Berg! January 2006: Athletic Training Students participated in the 6 th annual OATA College Quiz Bowl. This year the students finished 9 th in the field of 16. November 2005: Athletic Training Expansion! A new office is being constructed along with a new storage closet. April 2005: The Athletic Training Education Program has received a five year accreditation from CAAHEP January 2005: New staff additions: Karen Keenan joins the athletic training faculty. Karen brings a wealth of knowledge from a variety of different settings, including international competition. January 2005: Promotion: Sean Degerstrom has been promoted to full time faculty after serving as a Graduate Intern at the 'Berg for the last year and half. December 2004: Leslie Coffman has left the 'Berg. She has gone to Bentley College in Massachusetts. We wish her good luck!
