Women’s Tennis Returns To The Win Column At Capital The Heidelberg College women’s tennis team returned to the win column with a 5-4 Ohio Athletic Conference victory at Capital University. The win improved Heidelberg to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in league action. The victory also snaps a two-match slide for the Berg. A strong showing in doubles play gave Heidelberg an early 2-1 advantage. The duo of Tina Dodson (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) and Amanda Hanning (Galion, Ohio / Galion) posted an 8-0 win at first doubles to put some early points on the board. Meghan Michaels (Fremont, Ohio / Fremont Ross) and Morgan Harrigan (Urbana, Ohio / Urbana) controlled second doubles and won 8-5. Capital evened the score at 2-2 with a win at first singles, but three-straight wins for Heidelberg at second, third and fourth singles proved to be the difference in the match. Hanning put Heidelberg on top with a 6-4, 6-3 win at second singles. Harrigan and Dodson followed Hanning’s lead with a 6-3, 6-2 and a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 win at third and fourth singles, respectively. Heidelberg will continue its trek through the OAC when it hosts Wilmington College April 5. Action is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. on the Heidelberg Tennis Courts.
