Women's Soccer Tops Host Hiram, 2-1

Sophomore midfielder Sarah Kudrak (Mansfield, Ohio / Mansfield) recorded two goals to help lead the Heidelberg College women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory at Hiram College.

Kudrak opened up the scoring on a corner kick from Ashley Durand (Cincinnati, Ohio / Country Day) in the 31st minute. Heidelberg would hold the 1-0 advantage heading into the intermission.

Hiram evened the score at 1-1 with a goal by Ali Milford in the 62nd minute. Less than two minutes later Kudrak found the back of the net for the game-winning goal.

Hiram out shot Heidelberg 19-9, but the Berg held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Samantha Pawlak (Willoughby, Ohio / South) recorded 10 saves in goal for the Berg and improved her season record to 1-3.

Heidelberg will be back in action against Muskingum Sept. 30 at Mayer Field, on the campus of Heidelberg. Game is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
