Heidelberg Suffers 4-1 Setback To Capital The Heidelberg College women’s soccer team suffered a 4-1 setback at the hands of the Crusaders of Capital University. The Berg falls to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while Capital improves its overall record to 8-6-2 and 3-0-2 in the OAC. The Tricolor managed five shots on goal with two coming off the foot of senior Kasey Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio / School of Performing Arts). In the 84th minute Hill scored the lone goal for the Berg, her team leading sixth goal of the season, on an unassisted play. Junior Kelly Mueller (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) and senior Brianna Durtschi (Galion, Ohio / Galion) also recorded a shot on goal. Capital was lead by junior Kara Martin who netted two goals for the Crusaders (17th and 60th minutes) and freshman Natasha Ballard add two assists and a goal of her own in the 11th minute. Capital out shot the Berg 17-5. Senior goalie Samantha Pawlak (Willoughby, Ohio / South) recorded seven saves on 11 shots faced. Pawlak drops her record to 1-8 on the season The women’s soccer team will be back in action Oct. 18 when they travel to University Heights, Ohio to take on John Carroll University. Game time slated for 4:00 p.m.
