Albion Edges Heidelberg 3-2

Senior Kasey Hill Scores two goals for Heidelberg

 

The Heidelberg College women’s soccer team scored the first and last goals of the game but three goals in the middle gave Albion College a 3-2 win.

             

Senior Kasey Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio / School of Performing Arts) netted the contest’s first goal by blasting a shot from eight yards out over the keepers head in the 14th minute.

             

In the 39th minute, ’Berg senior goalie Samantha Pawlak (Willoughby, Ohio / South) blocked a shot, The Briton’s Allison Oatley corralled the rebound and found the back of the net to knot the score at one.

             

Albion scored a goal in the 56th and 60th minutes to take the lead in the second half. Heidelberg’s Hill cut the deficit in half at the 81:30 mark when she finished a free kick from junior Ashley Durand (Cincinnati, Ohio / Country Day), but it was not enough as the Britons held on for the win.

             

Albion outshot Heidelberg 38-4, including 20-3 in shots on goal. Pawlak falls to 0-2 on the year in goal for Heidelberg, playing 90 minutes and grabbing 17 saves.

             

Heidelberg returns to action Wednesday when they travel to take on Wooster. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
