Harrigan Sinks A School Record Six From Long Range In 'Berg Victory

Sophomore guard Morgan Harrigan (Urbana, Ohio / Urbana) of the Heidelberg College women's basketball team hit a school record six three-pointers to lead the Berg to a 64-53 victory at Robert Morris - Springfield on Tuesday night. Harrigan came off the bench and shot 6-for-9 from long range on her way to a career-high 18 points. Harrigan joins former 'Berg players Liza Simrell and Amy Ellison with six made three-pointers in a game. Simrell has accomplished the feat on three occasions.

Heidelberg held a 29-19 lead at the intermission thanks in part to Harrigan shooting 4-for-4 from behind the arc over the final 12 minutes of the opening stanza. The win improves the Berg to 6-3 overall, while the Eagles fell to 7-7.

Junior Amanda Campbell (Pataskala, Ohio / Watkins Memorial) recorded her second double-double of the season, and her ninth of her career, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Brittany Skolnicki (Lorain, Ohio / Clearview) rounded out three in double-figures with 14 points. Sarah Kesse (Cincinnati, Oho / Colerain) backed Campbell with seven boards.

Heidelberg, under the guidance of 19th-year head coach Karen McConnell, returns to action when they host the Heidelberg Holiday Alumni Classic Dec. 29-30. Heidelberg opens up classic action against Huntingdon Dec. 29 at 8:00 p.m. Alma and Juniata round out the four-team classic and square off at 6:00 p.m. Dec. 29.
