Muskingum Tops Women’s Basketball On Senior Night

In a battle for the final spot in the 2007 OAC Women's Basketball Tournament Muskingum College topped Heidelberg College, 73-69, in Seiberling Gymnasium. The loss concludes Heidelberg's season at 12-13 overall and 5-13 in league action.

Amanda Campbell (Pataskala, Ohio / Watkins Memorial) led the way for Heidelberg with a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Brittany Skolnicki (Lorain, Ohio / Clearview) and Maureen Hunter (Toledo, Ohio / Notre Dame) each chipped in 15 points apiece.

Heidelberg trailed by as many as 13 points and came back to take its first lead of the contest on a three-point play from Campbell. Campbell stole the inbounds pass from the Muskies under the Berg's basket and Jessica Jennette (LaRue, Ohio / Elgin) handled the ball and found Campbell under the hoop for the basket.

Heidelberg and Muskingum battled back and forth, exchanging the lead three times over the final 2:43 of the ball game. With the score tied 69-69, with 41 seconds left in the game, Muskingum's Tiffany Youel hit a baseline jumper and Jessica McKenzie hit two from the charity stripe to seal the win for Muskingum.

Prior to the contest Heidelberg recognized its lone senior Kyle Davison (Ravenna, Ohio / Hudson) and also recognized all parents.
