Heidelberg Suffers OAC Loss At Mount Union

The Heidelberg College women's basketball team suffered a 56-35 defeat at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. The win improves the Purple Raiders to 10-9 overall and 6-6 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Berg falls to 10-9 overall and 3-9 in league action.

Heidelberg faced shooting woes the entire game, including a first half parentage of 14.8 percent (4-of-27). The Berg bounced back in the second half, shooting 37.5 percent (9-of-24), but it was not enough in the OAC setback. For the game, Mount Union shot 40.7 percent (22-for-54). The shooting problems aided in the Berg recording a season-low 10 points in the first half.

At the intermission, Mount Union led 25-10. The second half saw the Berg pull within 13 points on a Morgan Harrigan (Urbana, Ohio / Urbana) trey with 12:09 on the clock, but that would be as close as the Berg would get.

Brittany Skolnick (Lorain, Ohio / Clearview) led the way with eight points, while Amanda Campbell (Pataskala, Ohio / Watkins Memorial) chipped in seven points. Kyle Davison (Ravenna, Ohio / Hudson) led the way on the glass with seven rebounds.

Heidelberg returns to action at home against nationally-ranked Baldwin-Wallace Jan. 31. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
