Women's Basketball Suffers Road Loss At No. 12 Baldwin-Wallace No. 12 Baldwin-Wallace College women's basketball team topped visiting Heidelberg College tonight in Ohio Athletic Conference action, 74-50. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Berg and dropped their overall record to 10-6 and its OAC mark to 3-6, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 14-2 overall and 8-1 in OAC action.
Sophomore Brittany Skolinicki (Lorain, Ohio / Clearview) led the way for the Berg with 13 points and seven rebounds. Backing Skolnicki was Kyle Davison (Ravenna, Ohio / Hudson) with nine points.
Carly Flowers led the Yellow Jackets with a game-high 12 points and Michelle White grabbed five rebounds.
In the first half, Baldwin-Wallace jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead until Skolnicki hit a jumper with 17:27 minutes on the clock. Heidelberg then closed the gap to five points at 9-4 at the 14:32 mark before B-W outscored the Student Princes 28-14 to build its largest lead of the first stanza to 19 points at 37-18 courtesy of a made a three-pointer with one second left before the intermission. In the second half, B-W built its largest lead of the game at 30 points at 59-29 at the 10:45 mark. Freshman Stacey Barker (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) pulled Heidelberg within 22 points on a lay up with 3:22 left in the game, but that would be as close as the Berg would get. Heidelberg continues its trek on the road against nationally-ranked opponents when they travel to Wilmington Jan. 20 for a 3:00 p.m. match up.
