Kempf And Patrick Earn OAC Postseason Accolades

The Heidelberg College volleyball team is represented by senior libero Megan Kempf (Olmsted Twp., Ohio / St. Joseph’s) and junior middle blocker Laurie Patrick (Bellevue, Ohio / Bellevue) on the 2006 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Third Team.

Kempf posted a streak of 37-consecutive matches with double-figure digs, which included a career-high 66 digs in a 3-2 over Otterbein Oct. 24. For the season, Kempf tallied 966 digs to set a new Heidelberg single-season record. She also recorded 44 service aces, which ranked second on the team. Within the career record book, Kempf set a new record for digs after finishing her career with 2,468.

Patrick led a talented set of ’Berg hitters, finishing with a team-best 415 kills and a .276 attack percentage. Not to be outdone, Patrick helped the Berg defense at the net with a team-high 136 blocks. Patrick’s 136 blocks ranks fourth in the single-season record book, while her 415 kills stands fifth. For the season, Patrick produced 27 double-figure kill matches, including a stretch of nine-straight late in the season.

Heidelberg finished 2006 with an overall record of 22-15 and made its 15th overall trip to the OAC Tournament, including its fifth-straight.
