Heidelberg Drops Doubleheader To Muskingum

The Heidelberg College softball team suffered a couple of loses to the defending Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) champions, Muskingum College, at Muskingum Field.  Heidelberg suffered a 6-1 lose, and an 8-0 setback in five innings in game two.  After the two games today, Muskingum improves to 15-6 overall and 2-0 in conference, while Heidelberg falls to 3-12 and 0-2 in the OAC.

In the first game the Tricolor kept the game close through the first two innings, but Muskingum opened the game up scoring four runs on five hits in the bottom of the third.  Heidelberg battled back scoring one run in the top of the fourth on a single by Crystal Killoran (South Euclid, Ohio / Brush), scoring Coree Price (Prospect, Ohio / North Union), cutting the Berg’s deficit to 4-1.  Price reached the base paths on a single.  The Muskies held Heidelberg scoreless for the remainer of the contest, while scoring one run in both the fourth and fifh.   

In game two, Muskingum scored four runs in the first and never looked back on its way to the 8-0 win.  Heidelberg struggled on the offensive end, only picking up four hits.

The leaders for the Berg were Killoran who went 4-for-5 picking up an RBI and Price with two hits.
