Men’s Tennis Suffers Season Opening Loss At Oberlin

The Heidelberg College men’s tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback at Oberlin College on Thursday in its season opener of the 2007 season.

Cutting an early 2-0 deficit in half was the duo of Eric Guindon (Martinsville, Ohio / Wilmington) and Luke Florence (Tiffin, Ohio / Calvert) with an 8-6 win at third doubles.

Guindon and Florence continued their dominance in singles competition with victories at third and sixth singles, respectively. Guindon posted a 6-2, 6-2 win over Arthur Zeyda, while Florence won 6-3, 6-1 over Benjamin Crystal to round out the scoring for the Berg on the day.

Heidelberg returns to action when its heads to Hilton Head, S.C on its spring break trip. Action begins against Defiance College March 12 at noon.
