Ohio Northern Snaps Heidelberg’s Three-Match Winning Streak

Ohio Northern University snapped Heidelberg College’s men’s tennis team’s three-match winning streak with a 6-3 Ohio Athletic Conference victory today at the Heidelberg Tennis Courts. Ohio Northern improves to 7-6 overall and 4-1 in league action, while the Berg drops to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in the OAC.

Earning the lone doubles point for Heidelberg was the duo of Eric Guindon (Martinsville, Ohio / Wilmington) and Luke Florence (Tiffin, Ohio / Calvert) with an 8-2 win at third doubles.

Evan Fahning (Milan, Ohio / Edison) posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at the fifth singles slot and was followed by Florence with a 6-1, 6-4 win at sixth singles. The win by Fahning was his team-leading ninth on the year, while Floence is not far behind with eight victories in just his first season.

Heidelberg returns to action at Baldwin-Wallace April 12 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
