Heidelberg Suffers 1-0 Setback To Capital

 

The Heidelberg College men’s soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to the Crusaders of Capital University. The Berg drops its overall record to 4-7-3 and 1-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while Capital improves its record to 8-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the OAC.

Heidelberg out shot Capital 10-7 in the game, including 6-0 in the second half. Senior forward Brent Kehrle (Lexington, Ohio / Lexington), finished with a team high four shots.

The lone goal of the match came off the foot of freshman Steven McCarthy on a breakaway in the 26th minute.

Sophomore goalie Brian Benson (Bay Village, Ohio / Bay) recorded three saves as he drops his record to 2-6-1 on the year.

The men’s soccer team welcomes OAC rival John Carroll this Wednesday Oct. 18, game time set for 4:00 p.m.
