Men’s Soccer Tripped Up At Case Western Reserve, 4-0

The Heidelberg College men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback at Case Western Reserve University. Case Western Reserve remains undefeated on the year at 7-0-1 and the Berg drops to 2-3-3 overall on the year.

Case Western Reserve netted three goals in the first half on six shots on goal. The first two goal were scored within the first 10 minutes of action. In goal for the Berg was Brian Benson (Bay Village, Ohio / Bay), who finished with six saves, all in the first half.

The Spartans added an insurance goal in the 67th minute to push the score to 4-0.

The Spartans out shot the Berg 15-3 and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

"They beat us in the first 15 minutes," said 18th-year head coach Brian Haley. "They came out ready to play and scored early and kept building on that momentum."
