Heidelberg Finishes Season With Road Loss To Baldwin-Wallace The Heidelberg College men’s basketball team fell Wednesday night to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Baldwin-Wallace College in the 2007 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals, 95-82. The win advances Baldwin-Wallace to the semifinals with a record of 18-8, while the Berg finishes the season at 13-13.
Baldwin-Wallace struck first, and led the entire first half. B-W opened the game with an early 12-4 advantage. Heidelberg would recover by going on to outscore B-W 14-8 to pull the game within two at 21-19 with 9:23 left in the first half. Baldwin-Wallace extended its first half lead to as much as 11, and would go into the locker room with the score 48-37.
Heidelberg opened the second half strong by outscoring Baldwin-Wallace 9-2. B-W would answer right back by going on a series of run, including a 9-1 run to put them up by 19 with 6:36 left to play. Heidelberg finished the game on a 10-5 run, but the damage had already been done.
Heidelberg had four players in double digits. Leading the way was Andrew Lemmon (Port Clinton, Ohio/ Port Clinton) with 21, hitting 4-of-6 from three-point range. Following Lemmon was Shawn Shriver (Bellevue, Ohio/ Western Reserve) with 13 points, Greg Tyson Jr. (Lima, Ohio/ Senior) with 11 and Ron Higgins (Vermillion, Ohio/ Firelands) with 10. Leading the way in rebounds was Lemmon with eight, followed by Tyson with six.
Baldwin-Wallace had five players in double figures. Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was Tori Davis with a game high 30 points, 20 of which coming in the first half, followed by Brendan Schuler with 16. Davis also grabbed 10 rebounds.
