Men’s Golf Stands Sixth At Capital Purple & White Invite

The Heidelberg College men’s golf team stood in third place following round one, but could not carry its momentum over to round two and finished sixth in the seven-team Capital Purple and White Invitational held at the Foxfire Golf Club in Lockbourne, Ohio. Heidelberg finished shooting 656. Nationally-ranked Otterbein College won the invitational with a 606.

Freshman Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington) carded a 73 in round one and returned in round two to shot an 84 to finish at 157 which was a tie for ninth place with fellow teammate Garrett Humes (Delaware, Ohio / Buckeye Valley). Humes shot a 77 and 80. Also earning a spot in the top-15 was Josh Seckel (Richwood, Ohio / North Union) with a tie for 14th after a two-day total of 159 (77, 82).

Joel Thompson (Byesville, Ohio / Meadowbrook) shot a 183 (87, 96) and Tony Travagliante (Homerville, Ohio / Black River) shot a 192 (89, 103) to round out the scoring for Heidelberg.
