Roddy And Cavotta Earn All-OAC Accolades

Sophomores Dawond Roddy (Sidney, Ohio / Sidney) and Fran Cavotta (Highland Heights, Ohio / North Olmsted) of the Heidelberg College football team have been named to the 2006 Ohio Athletic Conference Honorable Mention Team.

Roddy, a wide receiver, opened the year surpassing his season totals from his freshman season in just one game. Roddy racked up 172 receiving yards on five catches, including three touchdowns. Not to be outdone, Roddy racked up 112 kickoff return yards. For his efforts in the season-opener at Oberlin, Roddy earned OAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

For the season Roddy led the team with 595 yards, 30 receptions and four touchdowns. He also racked up 300 kick return yards, which ranked second on the team.

Leading a young, but experienced set of defensive backs in 2006 was Cavotta. Cavotta finished third on the team with 43 total tackles and 26 solo stops. Cavotta nearly doubled his total tackles from his freshman campaign and opened 2006 with a career-high 11 tackles against Oberlin. Cavotta has started every game for the Berg since arriving on campus in the fall of 2005.
