Internships

Over the past several years, the AJY Program has arranged internships both in the public sector and in the private sector in the Heidelberg area. Interested students must possess adequate language skills and a strong motivation to adapt themselves to the working environment in which they are placed.

Internships generally require 8 hours per week at the host institution, supplementary readings, a journal or academic paper of 8-10 pages, and evaluations by the host institution supervisor and by the AJY academic advisor. The internships are scheduled to run during the semester of the University of Heidelberg. Students earn 3 semester hours credit for this type of internship.
